To install, place the Verona plug-in in the Data Targets folder (inside the WebSentinel Data folder of the web server's Plug-Ins folder), if it is not already there. Then quit and re-launch your web server. You can place the actual Verona server application (located inside the Verona Server folder) anywhere on your web server machine, although it will need to be running for WebSentinel to access it. You may wish to put an alias to the Verona application in your Startup Items folder.
Getting Started
To start creating users using the Verona server, you need to define a new Data Target for Verona using WebSentinel Admin. First, connect to your web server using WebSentinel Admin, if it is not already connected. Choose Preferences from the Edit menu to bring up the list of database targets, in addition to other preferences. To add a new target, click on the Add button next to the currently defined data targets list. A window should open with a list to choose which type of data target to add. If Verona appears in the list, select it and click OK. If Verona does not appear, make sure you have followed the directions in the Installation explaination above. After you choose the type of data target to add, a custom preference window for that data target will appear with basic options that you can configure, such as database names. For now, you can simply leave these default values as they are, and click OK. The new data target should appear in the Preference window list, so click OK to dismiss the Preference window. Now that the data target has been created, it should appear in any popup menu that allows a choice of which data target to use. To open the list of users for your new Verona data target, click the Users button of the WebSentinel floating window (or go to the Users sub menu of the Window menu) and choose the new data target. The main users window will open, and you can start adding or working with users just as you would in the default built-in data target.
This is just a quick overview of dealing with database targets. See the Database Targets section of the WebSentinel documentation for a complete explaination.
Note about Verona Versions
The Verona Data Target for WebSentinel requires Verona v1.0.6b1 or later. A limited version of Verona that only allows four databases to be in use is included for free with WebSentinel. If you are an existing Verona user and are using a version of Verona prior to 1.0.6, please email us at <websentinel-support@purity.com> to request the latest version.
